Welcome to the website for St Andrews Masonic Lodge No 3948 based in Rochester Kent. We are a group of men who enjoy working together, supporting each other and raising funds for charity. We are proud to have kept this tradition of co-operation and comradery going for the 100 year history of this lodge.
The members of St Andrew's lodge have come from many varied trades and professions and during its history. We are proud to have had members associated with the dockyards, aviation industry, financial sector, commercial and private companies, the emergency services and the public sector.

At St Andrew's we believe that raising money for charity doesn't have to be painful, we hold BBQs, poker nights, group trips to other lodges and events that the whole family can enjoy.

In the last masonic year we have raised money for the following charities,
ServKent (Blood Bikes), TLC, Prostate Cancer UK  and East Kent 2025 Masonic Festival
Charity is one of the cornerstones for Freemasonry and raising money for good causes such as these is one of our most important goals.

Over 100 Years of History

Over our 100 years we have built strong social bonds and raised money for both to local and national charities.

This Lodge was founded on 2nd May 1919, in Rochester, Kent. We are based at the Gundulph Masonic Hall. The Lodge is named after the St Andrew's Priory which is associated with Rochester Cathedral. During it's first year, 1919 to 1920 Lodge membership rose from 17 to 82. Since the lodge was formed, 574 men have become members.
This building originated as a stable for the Old Crown Inn and was converted in 1904 by money raised by Gundulph Lodge. Whilst the conversion took place the address was 'Crown Inn Yard' but on completion the name Gundulph Square was adopted. This was the first permanent home for Freemasonry in Rochester.
